Vigneault can't Shut up, Boston Fires Back

Well no surprise, the dust has settled in Boston after the 4-3 battle royal loss to the Canucks and Alain Vigneault doing what he does best, complaining to the media. This guy is honestly worse than a 16 year old school girl. Boo hoo, every time someone says something about his team or roughs his team up a little, this guy goes immediately goes crying to the media. Brad Marchand got what was coming to him, a 5 game suspension, we all knew it was coming. So Vigneault comes out the day of the hearing to bash the league saying "when" they don't do anything he hopes he is going to get what is coming to him. Man if Torts getting fined for making backdoor comments about the league, why isn't someone throwing this guy one. He pretty much came out and said "whatever you're going to do, won't be the right call." Sounds like a last ditch effort to get a few more games added on to his suspension by calling the NHL out before they make a desision. Well I hope Shanny finally brings the hammer down on this clown so we can finally get him to shut the hell up.
In lighter new the NHL did retract its call against Milan Lucic which got him a game misconduct and ejected from the game. The original call was that Lucic left the bench in a fight which immediately leads to a game misconduct and suspension. Turns out he was just taking part in a routine line change when he decided
to help fellow teammate Thornton from getting jumped in a 6-1 scrum in front of the Canucks bench. Which Vigneault doesn't mention to comment on. So can't wait till they play again this time in Vancouver, should be a good one. Oh and Vigneault what part of practice do you guys practice finger biting? Also since we are in the mix of calling people out for things. Tell me this Vigneault, what is so different from this hit you put on Lucic last year in the playoffs than the one we saw the other night...even the guys calling the game thought that was clipping. So I guess Julien is right, might want to start looking in your own backyard! That was just as dangerous a hit and could have done just as much damage. But since it wasn't one of your precious little Sedins nothing was called.

ITS THE SAME HIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Patrick Elias Plays 1000th Career Game

Patrick Elias was apart of one of the greatest hockey teams when I was growing up. Those Devils during the late 90s were sick. It's great to see such a great hockey player play as long as Elias has. Adding to the night he scored a goal and got two assists, putting icing on the cake. Hats off Patrick.

NHLPA Denies New Realignment

The recent realignment and playoff format that was approved a few months ago by the NHL Board of Governors for the up coming 2012-2013 season has no been put on hold at least for one more year. The NHLPA (National Hockey League Players Association) refuses it's consent on the new plans.

“It is unfortunate that the NHLPA has unreasonably refused to approve a Plan that an overwhelming majority of our Clubs voted to support, and that has received such widespread support from our fans and other members of the hockey community, including Players,” said NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly. “We have now spent the better part of four weeks attempting to satisfy the NHLPA’s purported concerns with the Plan with no success.
Because we have already been forced to delay, and as a result are already late in beginning the process of preparing next season’s schedule, we have no choice but to abandon our intention to implement the Realignment Plan and modified Playoff Format for next season.”

“We believe the Union acted unreasonably in violation of the League’s rights. We intend to evaluate all of our available legal options and to pursue adequate remedies, as appropriate.”

So basically nothing is going to change for at least one more year. Sad. Was kind of looking forward to the new shake ups.

Sweden Wins Gold at World Juniors

It took overtime to settle this one. Mika Zibanejad scored at 10:09 of the first overtime to give Sweden their second World Juniors gold medal. Mikas teammates later said that he had called the game winning goal on the bench after the third period. "I told (Rotevall) before the overtime, too, so it was good to get that goal," Zibanejad said. "You have to decide if you want to win this. In the morning, it was a joke, but obviously it's not a joke anymore."
But the real story in this game was the play of Andrei Makarov, who made 57 saves and only let one by. Sweden out shot Russia 57-17. Wow and it went to overtime. I can only imagine the pain if they had lost this game. Andrei Makarov deserves a gold medal, just make and extra one christ 57 saves...All the hats off to Makarov.

I had to find the Swedish feed of this..haha..Ya! Ya! Ya!

And in third place news Canada beats Finland 4-0...wooo
Yes, that's what bronze looks like. Don't cry.

19th ranked Yale found themselves in a 3-3 game on Sunday against Bentley until forward Brian O'Neill scored back to back to back to back goals...making it a 7-3 lead for the Bull Dogs. O'Neill with four goals beat his own personal best of three back on the 12th of February last year. O'Neill normally known for his passing, 9th all time at Yale with 69 assists. When your hot your hot. Bull Dogs went on to win 9-3.

Carcillo Suspended 7 games

Well well looks like Mr. Carcillo is going to be suspended for the second time this year for the same call. Some people never learn. Yesterday Sheriff Shanny brought down the hammer on Dan Carcillo with a 7 game suspension for his illegal hit on Edmontons Tom Gilbert.

here it is....

This is a perfect example of why this is illegal. They are going full speed into the boards, not only did he hurt Gilbert the idiot hurt himself. For those of us not clear on the rules and want to know more of why it was illegal and why he got so many games, here's the Sheriff....

Tortorella fined 30K

Well for those of you who sat around watching the end of the Winter Classic and thought that the penalty
shot with virtually no time remaining was a huge ploy by Gary Bettman and the rest of the NHL to add a little more hype to the game for future Classic's ratings, you weren't the only one. John Tortorella was right there with you. In his post game news conference he was very vocal on how the end of the game was called. Calling out no calls by the refs and then wondering if NBC and the NHL had gotten together there at the end to make that call to make the game more exciting. Alright Tort tell the media what we all were thinking! Unfortunately we the fans can say and think whatever we want, we are not employed in the NHL. So Tortorella got smacked with a 30k fine yesterday for questioning the integrity of the league. Since then he has come out and apologized over and over. But, still fined.
